Scholarship information - March 1 National DYB - March 15 Shep Moss Scholarship

The Shep Moss Academic Scholarship Award is awarded to one college bound individual each year by South Hill Baseball to a chosen recipient for completing and winning an essay competition. The individual must have played South Hill Dixie Youth or South Hill Babe Ruth in past years. The individual must currently be a junior or senior in high school. The form is available below.

The winner is decided based on criteria and a scoring rubric that is reviewed by a non-partial teaching panel that is not from the South Hill area. 

This year the $1000.00 will be awarded to the winner at the South Hill Baseball's opening ceremonies. The money will be in the form of check that will be made out to the school that the winner will attend. The check will be written when the winner begins their college attendance and contacts South Hill Baseball with proof of college enrollment. 

DYB Baseball has a national scholarship that is due by March 1st. 2025 and is open to DYB players that have participated in years past. For link to scholarship... Click here  Applicants must have been registered on a DYB Baseball team participating in a franchised DYB Baseball Inc. league prior to reaching age thirteen. Selection is based on financial need, scholastic record and citizenship. Programs are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
